With the increasing of our national grid’s complexity and the expansion of its scale, higher requirements have been put forward on its secure and economic performance. The traditional maintenance mode has been unable to adapt to the improvement of the quality and function of electrical equipment. While CBM (Condition Based Maintenance) can effectively avoid the potential failure of equipment, reduce the time and cost on its failure maintenance. Therefore it has become the main development trend of maintenance mode.Firstly, this paper summarized the overseas and domestic achievements of theoretical research and practical application about the CBM of electrical equipment, analyzed the work flow of CBM system and the relevant information requirements, created the use case model and function model of the CBM system, and elaborated the design principles of the system, which lay basis for system design and development.Secondly, the shortcomings in present research about condition prediction and condition evaluation have been pointed out, and the corresponding improved methods were separately put forward:For the case that the prediction accuracy of single method was more focus on than their combination in condition prediction, combined condition prediction algorithm was recommended. It combined different methods by means of weighted combination, to achieve the complementation of their advantages. Besides, the decision method of optimal weighting coefficients was proposed, to improve the fitting degree between predictions with actual values, and to provide better support data for the diagnosis and evaluation of equipment’s condition at the later time.For the cases such as variables may be omitted in the traditional AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method for its unreasonable structure in condition evaluation, the modified AHP structure was designed, and the evaluation method combining AHP and CA (Conjoint Analysis) was proposed. It could analyze and evaluate each performance, parts and condition variables with various methods such as CA method, Delphi method, and SW (Swing Weighting) method and so on, so as to improve the scientific and effective effect of condition evaluation. Finally, on the basis of analyzing key technologies of the system, the technical architecture were stated. The data model and database of the system were analyzed and designed. The interfaces of each modules were designed and developed based on the former requirements analysis. The CBM system was put into operation after development and the result was analyzed, to prove its reasonability and availability.
