With the rapid development of social and economic development in China, accelerating urbanization, the city scale continues to expand, resulting in a sharp rise in demand for urban transport. Meanwhile, with economic growth and raise living standards, the vehicle population continues to rise. Correspondingly, the road construction is relatively lagging behind the growth of urban motor vehicles, valuing arterial road and underrating sub branch during road construction cause the poor structure of road network, resulting in a more common problem in the city-traffic jams, it’s especially serious at the intersection. Traffic congestion not only leads to the decline in efficiency, but also causes serious environmental pollution.In order to solve urban traffic congestion effectively, guiding residents green travel, developing urban public transit is the most appropriate solution. Compared with other modes of transport, city bus have the advantages that small investment, quick effect, easy to adjust the line, making full use of existing road resource etc., at the same time, the city bus service scope is moderate, can combine with pedestrian traffic, fast orbit transportation, public bicycles and other non-motor vehicles, to form green travel network which covers city-wide comprehensively, truly realizing green travel. Therefore, the bus priority development has become the consensus of all urban transport development.This paper starts with the bus station setting method by the intersection, through the study of the characteristics and service requirements of public transport at intersection, the relationships and the impact of public transport and other motor vehicles, non-motorized vehicles and pedestrian traffic, carrying out analysis and research of the technology of bus priority and the temporal relationship of intersection traffic organization, exploring reasonable bus station setting methods at intersection and then optimizing channelization design, and on this basis, making depth discussion about the essential characteristics of urban public transport, proposing the idea that combining with urban public transportation network planning and urban road network planning, putting forward a new method of the technology of bus priority in transportation planning stage and Land-use Planning at intersection in urban planning. Through further exploring the reasonable layout of bus stations and scheduling management, the paper provides basis and methods to enhance the attraction of the city bus, promoting the development of city bus, and relieving urban traffic congestion problems.Through the research above we can mainly draw the following conclusion:bus at the intersection mainly need to resolve conflicts with the vehicle of two intersecting directions, which are going to turn right. Conventional bus station setting method for resolving conflicts brings the problem that the transfer distance increases, and often could not meet the requirements of different direction or cross-transfer distance. Setting channelizing bus station at intersection can simultaneously achieve buses priority at intersection and convenient services, then improves bus punctuality. Under the premise of appropriate intersection spacing, trying to unset the road the bus station, which can effectively improve the efficiency of bus transport and reduce interference to other traffic. City bus is a kind of passenger traffic which makes use of urban road network and has the characteristics of rail traffic. When making traffic forecast, we should calculate separately on condition that whether the public transport has fixed line or not. Urban planning should determine the land of bus station at intersection separately to ensure bus priority. When planning land for the four corners of intersection, the separate arrangement is needed considering about motor vehicles traffic, non-motorized vehicular traffic and pedestrians.When setting channelizing bus station at the bus line, we should take the road between two signal intersection as an analysis unit, ensure the balance of transport capacity of each unit, which can prevent bus long queue effectively. Setting channelizing bus station at intersection, on-demand route setting bus-only lanes or bus priority, cancelling the road bus station, is the bus design method of minimal impact to other traffic, to ensure that the bus transit priority, punctual and efficient service, the least overall delay, and it’s worthy of widely promotion.
