In China, the temporary buildings are used widely for disaster relief, construction site, field exploration and so on. The temporary buildings are required to be built and used in short time, which mean the structural members need be transported conveniently and fast assembly. Because of its temporality, it is also required to be removed easily and can be recycled for reusing many times.Based on the requirements of the temporary buildings, this paper presents a two-story prefabricated concrete panel house. The architectural design, structural analysis and design, and joint design are carried out. The thermal performance of the composite panel is also studied to provide a theoretical basis for the design and promotion of this building.(1) The energy-saving prefabricated lightweight building is comprised of composite sandwich panels. The panels meet the requirements both of bearing capacity and thermal insulation. The panels with the standardized sizes could be precast quickly in factory. Composite panels with steel truss shear connectors or bamboo truss shear connectors are chosen as the structural members because of their advantages, such as high bearing capacity, thermal performance and lightweight.(2) A new kind of joint connection which includes steel plate, bolts and embedded part is designed. The building could be assembled rapidly and conveniently without weld on site by using the new joint. In addition, the damage of the structural members does not appear when the disassembly of the building is needed. The structural members could be recycled for reusing many times.(3) Structural analysis of the house is carried out and a modeling method is provided, including equivalent thickness of composite panels and spring element of the joint. The results of stress, deflection and displacement of the structure are proved to meet the requirements of the Chinese code, the house is safe and reliable.(4)The thermal resistance of composite panels was tested, and parametric analysis of the thermal performance of the composite panels was also carried out by using the finite element method. By the compare of the test results and the analysis results, they were in good agreement. Both of the composite panels with steel truss shear connectors or composite panels with bamboo truss shear connectors have super thermal performance. However, the thermal insulation property of composite panels with bamboo truss shear connectors is even better.
