For the problems in the cultivation of insect resistant transgenic hybrid cotton in China, an experiment with different place in Zhejiang province for three seasons in2004-2006, used the insect resistant transgenic cotton cultivar, Zheza14, as material, were carried out to study systematically the cultivated techniques for the insect resistant transgenic hybrid cotton by comparing the data obtained from three seasons in cotton yield and its components, agronomic characters, and fiber quality. The main results were as follows:1. The effect of applying NPK compound fertilizer on the yield increase was significantly better than that of urea nitrogen. In Hangzhou region, compound fertilizer with225kg N per hectare, fertilized in seedling stage and flowering stage as the ratio of2:1, was the best one for herbicide and insect resistant transgenic hybrid cotton. For the method of fertilizing, both mechanic and manpower could be used, and ditch fertilize covered afterward with soil was used in the former and hole fertilize covered with soil was the best for the latter.2. Comparing the lint yields in different planting population, a non-linear equation was obtained from the results as the lint yield (Y) and the planting density (X) was Y=11213.745×e0.2566×(r=0.9190)in Jinhua, and Y=11242.552xe0.2575×(r=0.9270) in Haiyan. The highest yield was observed when the plant population was29290plants·hm-2in central cotton production region of Zhejiang and that was41230plants·hm-2in northern cotton production region. In addition, the fiber quality can be improved by properly increasing planting population.3. The effects of DPC with the different concentration on yield, agronomic characters, and fiber quality were studied and the results showed that the agronomic characters were significantly improved by spraying DPC. The fiber quality, especially the fiber strength was improved as well. When spraying with45g-hm-2of DPC, the seed cotton yield and lint yield were significantly increased.4. Foliage spraying can significantly improve the lint yield, agronomic characters and fiber quality of Zheza14. The lint yield improving mainly due to the increasing in the period of available boll setting. The times of foliage spraying should be varied according to the cultivar characters and plant growth, and two times foliage spray are suitable generally for Zheza14.
