Off-season Tomato in Cangnan County during recent decades, are rapidly extended, and also induced some problems occurred, such as, varities degraded, resistances losting, yield decreasing and lower competitiveness in quality. Introduced cultivars, therefore, is important of practical significance for adapting Cangnan County geographicand climate conditions and replacing planted varieties to promote the development of tomato industry in Cangnan County.Considering Cangnan County special geographical climate conditions and demand of the tomato market, four varities, namely, Haoweisite, Beiyin, Lifeng0833and73-45were introduced and tested for off-season growing. Based on the tentatively growing results, we hope to select one with high quality, high yield, tolerance to chill and low light, high disease resistance, high fruit setting rate, good commercial quality, and long life shelf. The results indicated that "Lifeng0833" was the most suitable one.To exploit the potential of yielding and quality of the variety, Lifeng0833in Cangnan County, the key cultivation techniques were set up. The key cultivation steps include:(1) using plug with72holes to culture5-6leaf strong tomato seedling for transplantation;(2) using leaning culture method to facilitate early fruit-setting;(3) using the density of2000plants per667M2to obtain the best incomes for farmers;(4) using improved pruning with sinlg stem, the targets of early high yield, proper fruit size, clustering harvest to meet the market demand will be achieved in Cangnan.(5) application of biological organic fertilizer and inorganic compound fertilizer (NPK) by5:5ratio (cost ratio) to balance the yield and tomato quality;(6) at the early flower stage recommendation of using of PCPA concentration of60mg/kg was proposed to prevent fruit shedding when temperature was high. As temperature increasing, the concentrations of PCPA should be lowered to less than40mg/kg. By taking the above measures, high yield and quality of tomato shold be acquired.
