Tractor is a kind of power machineries, which is widely used for agriculture and forestry. Because of the complexity and specificity of its operating environment, the driver’s driving environment is quite poor. So it is particularly important to protect the safety and comfort of the tractor’s driving. A good tractor cab is able to provide a comfortable driving environment for the driver, and it can ensure the noise, vibration, micro-environment and climate, operating comfort in the cab, which can reduce the harm on the driver’s physical and psychological.This paper analyzed the main content and methods of the design of tractor cab, and did a detailed design and research on the shape, color, ergonomics and structure of the tractor cab. What’s more, the Pro/E Manikin module and Pro/Mechanica software were used to simulate and evaluate the man-machine environment and the structural strength of the cab. Finally, the paper fulfilled the design of a new tractor cab and established the precise three-dimensional model of the cab by using Pro/E. The main work which has completed is summarized as follows:1. This paper analyzed the history and current status of the development of the tractor cab, and proposed the design requirements of the tractor cab According to the importance of the shape, color, structure security and human-machine environment design of the tractor cab.2. According to the general principles and methods of the tractor design and combined with the form and functional elements of the design of the tractor cab, the overall shape of the tractor cab was analyzed and learned. By analyzing KT1804tractor cab’s function, structure, environment and the cultural and aesthetic of the people who are using, this paper polarized the design of a new KT1804tractor cab in detail. Combined with the creative methods of the product design, the paper proposed a new form of creativity on the tractor cab, and analyzed and evaluated the final selected design. At last, the three-dimensional solid model of the tractor overall shape was established by using Pro/E.3. According to the statistics and analysis of26domestic and foreign well-known brand of tractor color, the paper summed up the current status and the trends of the tractor color in the domestic market, and analyzed the main factors that affect the tractor colors. Based on these factors, a detailed positioning of the design of the KT1804tractor color have been raised. The paper designed the KT1804tractor color in accordance to the basic principles and methods of the design of the tractor color, and rendered some color creative solutions by Keyshot software. And the final plan of the color design was been selected by evaluating the different color design. In favor of the color management in company,the color parameters of the standard was laid down.4. According to the tractor cab ergonomics evaluation system, the various components’ spatial distribution of the KT1804original cab and the driver’s driving comfort were analyzed. The paper proposed the lack of the existing cab design and something which need to improve, and redesigned and arranged the H-point position of the tractor cab, the size and position relationship of the control device based on the tractor ergonomics theoretical knowledge. In addition, a detailed three-dimensional model of layout of the cab was established. Finally, by using Pro/E Manikin human evaluation module, the paper evaluated and simulated the driver’s sitting comfort, vision performance and the scope of manipulation in the operation of driving tractors. The analysis results showed that the optimum design of the cab comfort, vision performance and operation had a great degree of improvement.5. The paper analyzed the structural characteristics and strength requirements of the tractor cab, and designed the cab’s overall structure combined with the materials, processing, and mechanical properties. By using Pro/Mechanica software and based on OECD test methods and standards, five trails of the structure model of the tractor cab were simulated and analyzed: push back, press back, push beside, press front, push front. Through the analysis, the designed cab’s structure achieved the OECD test standard.This paper fulfilled a systematic research on the overall content and design methods of the tractor cab design, and established a three-dimensional model of the cab at the Pro/E software platform. Besides, the Pro/E Manikin module and Pro/Mechanica software were used to simulate and evaluate the man-machine environment and the structural strength of the cab, which provide a reference for future related research.
