Study On Evaluation And Exhibition Design Of Plant Landscape In Crane-viewing Area, Zhalong Nature Reserve

Nature Reserve’s main function is to protect the biodiversity and promote environmental education. Developing ecotourism in nature reserves has become a trend. With the development of ecotourism and the strengthening of public participation, the function of nature reserves isn’t only protection and research, but also an important place for ecotourism and popular science education of people. Plant is an important part of protected areas, and is a base for ecosystem stability and sustainable development. Meanwhile, the abundant plant species and unique plant landscape can provide tourists with resources to appreciate the natural scene, experience and learning, so the plant landscape plays an important role on the biodiversity protection and environmental education in protected areas.Based on the plant landscape in Crane-viewing Area of Zhalong Nature Reserve, we carried out the following researches:1. By using quadrat method surveying plant diversity was surveyed on4tour routes’. The results showed that:there are over94plant species, among them Compositae, Gramineae Leguminosae and Rosaceae are more species;The number of plant species and abundance of the4tour routes is in sequence (from high to low):administration site of Nature Reserve>accumulator-car tour>asphalt road> water road; the diversity index and dominance of administration site is the highest and that of water road is the lowest; the plant community similarity between administration site and accumulator-car tour is the highest0.720, and between the asphalt road and accumulator-car tour is the lowest0.456; the exhibit characteristics is low, wetland plant density low ornamental value abundant resource plants, disorder distribution lacking of design and management.2. By using questionnaire survey and behavior tracking observation method the visiting prefence demands and satisfaction to plant landscape of tourists were analyzed in Crane-viewing area. The results showed that:tourists had high demand for environmental education of wetland; their satisfaction to plant landscape of tourists had important relationship with education degree, income and source province; Visit preference of tourists is relatively single and tourists are more interested in wetland hygrophyte and wild animals.3. SD (Semantic Differential) evaluation of the plant landscape in Crane-viewing Area by some professionals of landscape architecture was conducted. The results showed that: variational, colorful, with water element, orderly, natural and living plant landscape had higher overall evaluation. Crane-viewing Area mainly shows the characteristics of low-growing vegetation, open plant landscape space, high vegetation coverage, quiet environment and strong vitality. But the character of plant landscape is not out standing. 4. Combined design theory of plant landscape with above survey results, we put forward the principles of plant landscape exhibit design, and selected special plant species, increased the plant species of resource plants preferred by birds, and proposed some suggestions for the plant landscape exhibit and design along the tour routes.
