Pharmacodynamics Of Preventive Effect Of Cajanus Cajan L. On Layer Osteoporosis

Cajanus cajan L. has many physiological functions, and was widely used in medicine andveterinary clinical.In this paper, we studied the preventive effect of Cajanus cajan L. on osteoporosis,egg production performance, the quality of eggshell, bone mineral density, endocrine, and bloodbiochemical index were conducted, and the safety was evaluated, which are helpful for clinical use.Acute toxicity test of Cajanus cajan L. extractive were conducted with Karber method; The resultsshowed that: the LD50of Cajanus cajan L. extractive is62.6g/kg, it indicated Cajanus cajan L.extractive is practical non-toxicity in mice.The model of osteoporosis was built by reducing the calcium level in the daily ration.505,63-weeked layers were chosen, randomly divided into11groups: group1is normal control group,provided with basal diet; group2,3,4are adding60,90,135mg/kgBW Cajanus cajan L. extractive indaily ration; group5is model control group: provided with calcium deficiency daily ration; group6,7,8,9,10are adding40,60,90,135,200mg/kg BW Cajanus cajan L. extractive in calcium deficiencydaily ration; group11is positive control group, adding25mg/kg ipriflavone in daily ration. The layingrate, broken egg rate of every group were calculated; the eggshell strength and eggshell thickness weredetermined; PTH, CT, E,FSH,LH,BGP level were detected using ELISA kits, bone mineral density weretested by Bone Sonometers; blood biochemical index were conducted by automatic blood biochemicalanalyzer. The results showed that: Reducing the calcium level of daily ration can successfully buildosteoporosis model. Adding60~90mg/kg Cajanus cajan L. extractive into the daily ration can improvethe production performance, eggshell quality, bone metabolism of old layers. Adding135mg/kgCajanus cajan L.extractive into the daily ration can prevent the old layers suffering osteoporosis.
