It’s a very important development goal for modern agricultural science andtechnology to get the best results with the lowest cost by using natural resourcesscientifically. Crop ecological suitability means various ecological factors demand thatcrop required and the degree of agreement between these factors that the environmentprovided. Regional crop ecological suitability assessment is not only the fundamentalbasis of the cropping design system, the planning farming layout and the plant structureadjusting, but also the important basis of the cultivation techniques improvement, thecrop introduction and the crop yield estimation, meanwhile, it has a very significantimpact on achieving its benefits and goals. This paper first outlines the purpose and significance of the studies about cropsecological suitability, reviews and summarizes the research status on the crop ecologicalsuitability evaluation method. After anglicizing the ecological suitability main evaluationmethod, the writer determined the technical basis and research methods of this article bydrawing on existing methods and further study. Under the existing conditions, initiallyidentified the object of study of the model as well as the support of appropriate conditionsmodel to determine the crop ecological suitability model calculation principle, first usingsingle ecological factor threshold by ecological distance to determine the suitability of thesingle factor, and then decided to directly determine the overall ecological suitability orfurther consolidated according to the judgment result. This model provides two integratedcalculation method, the weighted sum method and Euclidean distance method, whether ornot the user is conditional to weight for each ecological factors given by them, they canselect the appropriate calculation method to get the comprehensive suitability. This modelprovides the two threshold partition method, the single ecological factors can be dividedbased on the method, and it allows the users to obtain a first result which has a clearphysical meaning or ecological significance. Then, begin the second partition for theintegrated ecological distance, in this step, users can adjust the threshold themselves, thusobtain a suitable classification results according to their own requirements, and take thephysical significance and outcome of usability into account at the same time. With thedetermination of the crop ecological suitability model, this paper adopted the Visual Studio2008and SQL Server2005database as development tools, and selected C#as thedevelopment language, designed the crop suitability evaluation software according to theprinciple of usability, easy extensibility and high efficiency, designed the database, interface and model function, and listed the core computation code of the crop suitabilityevaluation software. This paper determined and implemented the crop suitabilityevaluation model and system through the above research, made improvement andoptimization to the traditional crop suitability evaluation method, reduced the workload, and covered the main types of ecological suitability analysis conditions from theperspective of agronomy professionals. Combining agronomy knowledge with computertechnology, this paper established the attribute database related to various aspects offactors, such as temperature, light, moisture and soil conditions, assessed crops’ecological suitability assessment through users’ input conditions, and determined thesuitability of crop within the scope that user selected. Finally, this paper applied thesuitability evaluation system to wheat for practical application; found that the suitabilityevaluation result was scientific and efficient.
