Breeding And Cultivation Technologies Of The New Eggplant Hybrid ’Ning Qie No.4’

Eggplant is one of the most significant vegetable crops in China. With the continuous improvement in cultivation techniques and facility agriculture, planting benefit of eggplant has improved greatly. The cultivation area has expanded each year, and eggplant has become an important part of high-efficiency agriculture. We are at the very beginning of breeding new eggplant varieties with specific facilities. The lack of special varieties of eggplant has become one of the key factors affect the eggplant facilities to improve the level of production. Therefor, the research is focusing on the major problem of previous cultivation, aiming to breeding high-quality, multi-resistant eggplant, and reasearching on cultivation technology for new breeds, in order to promote the cultivation of eggplant facilities.(1)’Ning Qie No.4’is breeded by using comprehensive excellent characters in long rod shape inbred lined S095-1-7-1-1-1as female parent, vigorous egg-shaped inbred lined S047-3-7-1-1-1as male parent.’Ning Qie No.4’is vigorous and fruitful with black-purple color, long egg-shape and green-white sarcocarp which is tasty and young. The fruit weighs about160g with high value, high resistance and great acclimation. The plant readily tolerate early spring cultivation and summer-autumn cultivation in south.(2)’Ning Qie No.4’behaves fruitful. In2010, the average output is4296kg per667m2among regional test in eggplant of Jiangsu province, which is22.67%more than the Suqi eggplant. During the field trial in2011, the average output is3365kg per667m2,12.99%more than the Suqi eggplant. During the production test in2011, the average output is3618kg per667m2, which is22.83%more than the Suqi eggplant.(3)By researching technique of ’Ning Qie No.4’seed production, we established technical standards of Eggplant seed production that aimed to enhance the quality and output of parents and F1seed. The parents-seed-purity is100%. Hybrid purity is more than98%. Thousand-seed-weight is more than4.8g, and the germination rate is more than95%; while seed production increases to more than35kg.(4) The result of density and fertilizer efficiency test indicated that the optimal cultivation density of’Ning Qie No.4’is2700seedlings per667m2. The optimum amount of fertilizer is19kg N,7.2kg P2O5, and22.4kg K2O.
