The bulb propagation and cultivation of Hippeastrum was studied in this dissertation. Cutting propagation method of Hippeastrum bulb was investigated by using different cutting time and number according to the different varieties and their bulb diameters. The effect of the plant growth regulator on bulblet propagation and their growth was discussed. The bulb of’Blossom Peacock’ and ’Apple Blossom’ cultured in pot media at facilities was studied. The key technology of seedling growth, vegetative growth to blossom was considered by application of soilless cultivation and chemical protection, controlling the concentration of fertilizer and fertilization period and etc. The red spot disease of Hippeastrum was controlled effectively in culture and the quality and size of bulb met to requirement for commodity. The results were as follows:1.Effects of different varieties, cutting time, cutting the number and different bulb diameter on cutting propagation of Hippeastrum were investigated. The results show that the bulb cut in July was better than that in August and cut in September was bad performance. The cutting propagation ability for variety of’Red Lion’was stronger than that of’Red peacock’, hybrid F1performance was in the middle. The quality and quantity of bulblets was excellent the bulb was divided to32parts, followed by dividing16,8,6. The bulb which the diameter was6-6.5cm was divided into20parts and it would generate35bulblets. The bulb which the diameter was7-7.5cm was divided into28parts and it would generate52bulblets. The bulb which the diameter was8-8.5cm was divided into36parts and it would generate53bulblets. Cutting time was related with bulb size and temperature. Cutting too early, bulblet was not easy to emerge because bulb nutrient was consumed after the flower. Cutting too late, lower temperature was not suitable for the bulblet growth. The best cutting time was in July. The ability of cutting propagation was different among varieties, selecting the variety which had high resistance and natural propagation was good for cutting production. The number of copies which was cut should be decided by the bulb size. The more the bulb was divided, the more bulblet was emerged. Considering the propagation coefficient and bulblet quality, the bulb which the diameter was7-7.5cm was good for cutting.2.The effect of plant growth regulator on bulblet emerging and growth of Hippeastrum were investigated. The results show that the cutting bulblet treated by100-300mg/L6-BA grew excellently. The follow was by50-150mg/L NAA and the bulblet increased significantly compare with that of CK. The cutting bulblet treated by50-150mg/L IB A was worse than that of CK and it was clearly disadvantageous to produced bulblet. It was not significantly affected on the produced bulblet number and growth by the treatment with different concentration.3.Effect of the imported water-soluble fertilizer20-10-20and fertilization on two varieties of seedling of Hippeastrum was investigated. The results show that the number of leaf, the bulb diameter and the leaf length of’Blossom Peacock’ were maximal growth when they were fertilized by100mg/kg20-10-20and electro-conductivity in media held1.16milli Siemens per cm. That of’Apple Blossom’ was fertilized by150mg/kg20-10-20and electro-conductivity in media held1.67milli Siemens per cm. It was conducive to growing of Hippeastrum fertilized every7days in vigorous growth period.4.Effect of the imported water-soluble fertilizer20-20-20and CaNO3on growth of two varieties of Hippeastrum was investigated. The results show that the leaf length and bulb diameter of two varieties were maximal growth when they were fertilized by200mg/kg20-20-20and electro-conductivity in media held1.4milli Siemens per cm during the growth period. The blade lodging of plant was controlled effectively when the100mg/kg calcium nitrate was applied. The bulb conventional cultured from seedling to blossom need2-3years. But now it was shortened to16months applying medium and imported water-soluble fertilizer and flowering stage was more than8months ahead of schedule.
