In this paper, with the introduction of new varieties of barbadoslily as material, to study its adaptability in Ningxia area and observe the biologicalCharacteristics, then to select the appropriate local cultivation of potted plants and cut flower varieties. At the same time,we do the breed test and try to expand the number of the seed ball. The main results are as follows:We detected Ornamental traits in different varieties of barbadoslily such as in unpigmented flower buds, Early flower and opening flower. Experiments show that the Ornamental traits in each period of barbadoslily are different. ‘Apple blossom’ had the best quality for bolting stage, the early- and full-bloom stages, while ‘Susan’ and ‘Red lion’ owned the lowest quality.Cutting method were used for researching the effect of different factors on the reproductive ability of Hippeastrum cultivars, to seek the best way to reproduce their bulbs, in order to provide scientific basis for large scale and intensive production of Hippeastrum bulbs. The ‘Red Lion’, ‘Wisdom goddess’ and ‘Smile face’ as experimental material, were studied on the effects of their reproductive ability by different matrix type, number of bulbs, bulb age, variety, cutting time, layer, and rooting powder. The results showed that 2 years old ‘Red Lion’with 8 pieces, had the highest cutting survival rate and the best root growth and development on the perlite with rooting powder treatment in July.Pot planting experiment were carried out among the new Hippeastrum varieties, through the comparison with the difference analysis, to get the key technology of the cultivation and regulation of flowering time, thereby increasing the additional value of Hippeastrum varieties. The results showed that under the experimental condition, Hippeastrum varieties grew well, and were suitable for cultivation in the region, but there are differences between varieties. The ‘Flower Record’ and ‘Las Vegas’ were the best, followed by ‘Red Lion’and ‘Wisdom goddess’.
