With the further deepening of China’s reform and opening up, the transformation of economicgrowth mode from the extensive to the intensive economic growth mode. In farming areas, theartificial feeding is not enough for production needs. It is imperative to the intensive farming.With the rapid development of the industrial automation, Programmable Logical Controllerplays an important role in the field of industrial automation and provides reliable and extensivecontrol applications for the controlled device. PLC is the control core of the intelligent feedingsystem in this article. The intelligent feeding system combines with the ZigBee technology andcompletes the task of the intelligent feeding. The background of the subject and the relatedtechnology were first introduced. Then the following aspects were introduced:(1) According to the technical requirements of the intelligent feeding system, the overall designof this system was proposed. The main work were the hardware design of PLC, the software designof PLC, the design of the wireless communication system and the design of human machineinterface.(2) The hardware design of PLC control system. The Siemens S7-200CPU224XP was selectedand the input and output devices were determined.Then the hardware connection of input andoutput devices were designed.(3) Using the STEP7-Micro/WIN as the programming software for this system. Theprogramming language was the ladder diagram. The user program was written by this software.Then that program was debugged.(4) Through the ZigBee module networking on the scene, the wireless transparent transmissionbetween the computer and PLC was realized. The ZigBee module was the role of the wired serialcommunication into the wireless serial communication.(5) The human machine interface was designed by the configuration software. It was dividedinto the remote computer graphical interface and the touch screen graphical interface in the feedingcar. The computer used KingView and the touch screen used MCGS. Two graphical interfaces candisplay, monitor and set up the feeding car working conditions. The feeding car working conditionincluded the open and stop state, time to start, operation, feeding conditions and historical data.After the design of the intelligent feeding system, the intelligent feeding system was applied tothe pig feeding process to debug in the field. The results show that the system can finish the feeding work according to the specified technical requirements.
