Through practical surveying in Enshi, Yichang, Shiyan, Xiangyang four tobacco productionareas,the research figured out the comprehensive factors such as smoke tobacco growing currentsituation, the morphological structure of tobacco plant characteristics, tobacco modulation method et al.of Hubei local air-cured tobacco and sun-cured tobacco resources. Canonical correlations of sensoryquality, physical property, chemical components, and smoking quality were analyzed respectively usingair-cured tobacco and sun-cured tobacco samples from four tobacco growing areas of Hubei Province.Using SSR molecular marker technology to find out the genetic diversity of Hubei air-cured tobaccoand sun-cured tobacco resources. Results indicated that the evaluating indices between the mentionedquality characters, proposed the evaluation indexes. The specific results were as follows:(1)The survey found69local air-cured tobacco and sun-cured tobacco materials in Hubeitobacco production areas, basically figured out the Cultivation and quality situation of Hubei Province.The materials included most red sun-cured tobacco types, individual yellow sun-cured tobacco typesand other types. The seedling date is in early January to late March. The mainly seeding method istraditional seeding. The fertilizer application type included Compound fertilizer,farmyard manurecombined with tobacco fertilizer and cake fertilizer. The modulation method is mainly for the ropedrying, modulation cycles are usually a month long. Results about economical character conditions invigorous growing stage indicated that there is diverse performance between plant height, leaf number,leaf width of Hubei air-cured tobacco and sun-cured tobacco resources.(2)The appearance quality of Hubei air-cured tobacco and sun-cured tobacco materials mostlyhad a low maturity, the tobacco luster looked dark. There were30tobacco materials in good using value.Results about appearance quality of surveying materials showed the diversity in different types of thetobacco materials. Compared chemical composition with general flue-cured tobacco, the test materials’chloride ion content is extremely high, the reducing sugar and total sugar content is much lower exceptthe yellow sun-cured tobacco type, the potassium content is lower,the nicotine content is much higherthan general flue-cured tobacco. There were complete typed and diversity styled samples of sensoryquality. These samples had unique quality characteristics and potential using value.(3)The research used31SSR primers to analysis genetic diversity of54tobacco materials.31SSR primers amplified3756bands in54tobacco materials. among the3756bands there were147polymorphism bands. The average polymorphism bands ratio ppb=4.41%and the bands mainlydistributed in the range of100-400bp. Using SSR molecular marker found that XF-01and XF-02、ES-03and ES-04、CY-04and CY-10、CY-07and BD-01had very close genetic distance,each of themmay be the same species.(4) Results indicated that the evaluating indices between physical property and the othermentioned quality characters all showed significant canonical correlations. Relationship betweenphysical property and sensory quality was the most significant. Physical property such as weight per leaf, leaf length and equilibrium moisture content played important roles between any two qualitygroups relationship.
