Objective To investigate the expression of DLC-1and MMP-9in gastric cancer tissues, and analysis their relationship as well as clinical significance. Methods:1.Immunohistochemistry was used to examine the expression of DLC-1and MMP-9proteins ingastric carcinoma(n=43)and normal gastric tissues(n=20). Then we analyzed theirrelationship with clinico-pathological characteristics of gastric carcinoma.2. Real-timepolymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to detect mRNA of DLC-1and MMP-9ingastric carcinoma(n=30)and normal gastric tissues(n=15).Then we analyzed theirrelationship in gastric carcinoma. Results:1.The positive expression rate of DLC-1protein ingastric cancer tissues (44.2%) was significantly lower than that in normal tissue(100%)(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of MMP-9in gastric cancer tissues (72.1%) wassignificantly higher than that in normal gastric tissue(20%)(P<0.05).2. The low expression ofDLC-1and the high expression of MMP-9had relationship with the depth of infiltration, lymph node metastasis and TNM staging of gastric carcinoma (P<0.05).3. It is a negativecorrelation between DLC-1and MMP-9in the protein expression level and in gene expressionlevel. Conclusion: DLC-1and MMP-9may be associated with the occurrence of gastriccancer invasion and metastasis, and there may be play a negative coordinating role in thedevelopment of gastric cancer.
