The Expression Of IRX2in Primary Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Objective: The expression of IRX2was be found and the clinicalsignificance of IRX2was be investigate in primary human hepatocellularcarcinoma (HCC).Method: The primary liver cancer tissues and peritumoral tissues werecollected in surgical extraction from patients with HCC. The IRX2wastested by the qRT-PCR and Western Blot in21liver cancer tissues and21peritumoral tissues. The expression of IRX2protein in31tumor tissues and21peritumoral tissues was tested by immunohistochemisty. The differencesof expression of IRX2protein and mRNA were studied. We study therelationship between the IRX2protein in31liver tumor tissues (includingwell, moderate, poor-differentiated liver tissue groups) and the pathologicalstage of liver cancer were be detected.Result:（1）The expression of IRX2mRNA in HCC (17/21) was lowerthan that in the tumor adjacent non-malignant tissues (P=0.001);（2）Theexpression of IRX2protein in liver cancer tissues (0.866) was lower thanthat in the tumor adjacent non-malignant tissues (1.803, P=0.009). With thereducing of liver cancer differentiation degree, the IRX2protein expression was decreased and the difference was found statistically significant(P=0.001);（3）Further research show that the IRX2protein in poordifferentiated liver tissue to well differentiated liver tissue was foundstatistically significant and the same as that the poor to moderate (P=0.006,P=0.001). But that in moderate to well differentiated liver tissue was notfound (P=0.539).Conclusion: The expression of IRX2in primary liver cancer lower thanthat in the adjacent non-malignant tissues group; The abnormal expressionof IRX2and the differentiation of HCC related.
