objective:This study was designed to detect the expression of β-HCG,TIMP-1in the normal cervical epithelia, cervical intraepithelial neoplasiaIII and cervical carcinoma.Furthmore, to analyze their relationship with the pathological features and their relationship with the development, invasion and metastasis of cervical carcinoma. And to demonstrate the mutual relationship of P-HCG and TIMP-1, provide a new approach and.prevention strategies for cervical carcinoma.Methods:The expression of β-HCG and TIMP-1was investigated by immunohistoechemistry in103cases, including20cases of normal cervical epithelia,21cases of CINIII, and62cases of cervical carcinoma.The expression level of β-HCG and TIMP-1in cervical carcinoma was analyzed against clinical pathological factors such as clinical stage and histological grade.And β-HCG expression in comparison with TIMP-1was investigated preliminarily.Results:1. Positive expression of β-HCG in cervical carcinoma is56.09%,but in normal cervical epithelia and CINIII the expression are negative.2.The positive expression of TIMP-1in cervical carcinoma with lymph node metastasis and clinical stage was significantly higher than without.The difference of expression was statistically significance(P<0.05).But there was no relationship with the other clinicaopathological parameters(eg.tumor shap, lymph node metastasis)(P<0.05).3.The expression of TIMP-1was50.000%、61.90%、77.42%respectively in normal cervical epithelia, CINIII and cervical carcinoma.The tendency was increased (P<0.05). The positive expression of TIMP-1was statistically difference between normal cervical epithelia and CINIII(P=0.001),between normal cervical epithelia and cervical carcinoma(P=0.000).4.TIMP-1was expressed significantly higher in cervical carcinoma with lymph node metastasis,clinical stage, and pathological grade, than without, The difference of expression was statistically significance(P<0.05).Interstitial infitration was no statisti-ally significance in cervical carcinoma (P>0.05).5.The expression of β-HCG and TIMP-1was positive correlated in cervical carcinoma(rs=0.668, P<0.05).Concluion:The expression of TIMP-1was obviously increased from normal cervical epithelia to CINIII to cervical carcinoma.Both of the positive expression level ofβ-HCG and TIMP-1was higher in cervical carcinoma with lymph node metastasis and pathological grade than without.Given these observations, we concluded that β-HCG and TIMP-1may play an important role in the development and metastasis of cervical carcinoma.lt was also found that the expression of β-HCG was positive correlated with the expression of TIMP-1in cervical carcinoma, which suggested that β-HCG may induce the development in cervical carcinoma by increasing the expression of TIMP-1.
