Objective:To detect the expression of HIF-1α and Caspase3in oral squamous cell carcinoma,then estimate their correlation with the clinico-pathological characteristics and the predictive value of HIF-1α and Caspase3for oral squamous cell carcinoma.Methods:FIF-1α and Caspase3were detected by immunohistochemistry in tissue sample from55cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma and25cases of normal oral mucosa.Results:HIF-1α and Caspase3predominantly positive staining were detected in nucleus.The positive expression rates of HIF-1α in oral squamous cell carcinoma tissues were72.73%, where as only32.0%in normal oral mucosa. The difference between the two were significant(P<0.05).The positive expression rates of Caspase3in oral squamous cell carcinoma tissues were36.36%,lower than that in normal oral mucosa(84.0%).The difference between the two were also significant(P<0.05).The expressions of HIF-1α and Caspase3in oral squamous cell carcinoma tissues were correlated with pathological grading(P=0.026,P=0.000),but not with gender,age,clinical stages and lymph node metastasis status of the patients. The expression of HIF-1α and Caspase3had a negative correlation with each other in oral squamous cell carcinoma(P=0.000).Conclusion:The abnormal expression of HIF-1α and Caspase3may have a significant correlation with the occurring and developing of oral squamous cell carcinoma.The nucleus expression of HIF-1α and Caspase3may be a useful prognostic marker in oral squamous cell carcinoma,this was benificial for the early diagnosising and predicting the outcome.This could be a new way for the therapy of oral squamous cell carcinoma. |
