Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Reducing heat andRemoving stasis in the medical expulsive therapy for proximal ureteral calculi afterureteroscopic Ho:YAG laser lithotripsy. Methods: This research integrates90cases ofpaitents with proximal ureteral calculi whose size was10-15mm and underwentureteroscopic Ho:YAG laser lithotripsy were randomly divided into2groups. Reducingheat and Removing stasis group45cases, the control group45cases. All patients receivedthe conventional treatment with3liters hydration every day and keep daily activities. Thetreatment lasted4weeks or until stone clearance. The primary to observe the changes ofcurative effect indexes such as stone free rate, expulsion time and ureteric colic rate. Alldata carry on the analysis by the SPSS19.0statistics software. Results:The stone free ratein group with Reducing heat and Removing stasis therapy was95.56%and the rate ofcontrol group was77.78%at2weeks after operation, which showed that the differencewas statistically significant (P﹤0.05); while the stone free rate in treatment group was97.78%and the rate of control group was93.33%at4weeks after operation, whichshowed that the difference was not statistically significant(P﹥0.05); the expulsion timewas7.86±4.99d and the time of control group was11.93±10.09d, which showed that thedifference was statistically significant (P﹤0.05); the ureteral colic rate in treatment groupwas4.44%and the rate of control group was22.22%, which showed that the differencewas statistically significant (P﹤0.05). Conclusion:The Reducing heat and Removingstasis in the medical expulsive therapy for proximal ureteral calculi after ureteroscopic Ho:YAG laser lithotripsy is an effective management. It significantly improved the stoneexpulsion, decreased the expulsion time, and reduced the occurrence of colic episodes.
