Study Of The Effect Of Inferior Vena Cava Filter Implantation For Prevention Of Acute Pulmonary Embolism (PE) Formation

Objective：To discuss the application value of the inferior vena cava filter implantation inthe prevention of fatal pulmonary embolism.Methods：Retrospective analysis of clinical data of380patients with lower limb deep veinthrombosis(DVT)were treated from January2012to January2013. All patients wereinformed of the risks associated with pulmonary embolism,respect their wish tochoose to be placed or not placed in the inferior vena cava filter.179cases of DVTpatients placed in the inferior vena cava filter for the treatment group (group I),201cases not placed IVCF as the control group (group II).Through the regular review ofall groups followed up for3-6months.By reviewing make sure whether occurpulmonary embolism and DVT recurrence.Results：1case lost review in group I,4cases lost review in group II,2deaths due tomalignant tumors in group II,These cases are not included in the statistical.(1) The incidence of PE:PE cases of group I is2,0death, the incidence of PE is1.12%; The number of cases of pulmonary embolism in group II is14,1death, theincidence of PE is7.18%, the incidence of PE in group I is lower than groupII.Statistically Significant difference in incidence of PE in two groups (P <0.05),(2) DVT recurrence rate: DVT recurrence cases is13in group I, DVTrecurrence rate is7.30%; DVT recurrence cases is7in group II,and the rate is3.59%The rate of DVT recurrence in group I is higher than group II. Significant differencein DVT recurrence rate in two groups(P＜0.05).Conclusions：The inferior vena cava filter placement can reduce incidence of pulmonaryembolism caused by deep vein thrombosis, but will increase the lower extremity DVTrecurrence rate.
