Objective:To investigate the relations between the level of serum tumor necrosis factor a(TNF-a), leptin, soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(sVCAM-1) in blood serum and type2diabetes mellitus and its cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications development, and the changes of the3indexes for type2diabetes mellitus patients. Methods:A simple type2diabetes group was composed of34patients, a group of type2diabetes combined with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases was composed of41patients, a control group was composed of30healthy people. A double antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed to test the level of TNF-α, leptin, sVCAM-1in blood serum of the subjects. Automatic blood biochemical analyzer and chemiluminescence were used respectively to detect the contents of fasting serum glucose (FPG) and fasting serum insulin (FINS) of the subjects, and insulin resistance index (IRI) was estimated by homeostasis model assessment (HOMA).Results:The levels of TNF-α, Lp, sVCAM-1and HOMA-IR of the simple diabetes group and diabetes combined with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases group were significantly higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01); the above indicators of the simple diabetes group and diabetes combined with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases group were significantly different (,P<0.01). The level of TNF-a, leptin, and sVCAM-1had a significantly positive correlation with HOMA-IR for the simple diabetes group and the diabetes combined with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases group (r=0.452,0.489,0.442,0.476,0.569,0.572, P<0.05), all the correlation coefficients of the diabetes combined with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases group were significantly higher than the corresponding correlation coefficients of the simple diabetes group.Conclusion:TNF-α, leptin, sVCAM-1are high risk factors for type2diabetes mellitus and its cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications development; the3indexes are also significantly correlated with IR of type2diabetes mellitus.
