Objective:Gastric cancer is still a common malignant tumors at home and abroad. China has the highest mortality and incidence in the world. The staging of gastric cancer is very late.5years survival rate is still low after simple surgery. The overall curative effect is still unsatisfactory.Study the gastric cancer on the molecular level, the improvement of pathological staging and operation method may provide new opportunity for the treatment of gastric cancer so that we can early detection, diagnosis and treatment, achieve the goal of improving the treatment of gastric cancer. The Cadherin family is a kind of Cell surface glycoprotein which participate in a variety of bioprocess in the body, including the formation of cell adhesion, cell polarity and modality regulated by Calculm. Cell aggregation and migration, the cells of the recognition and the signal transduction mechanism. The expression degree and active state directly affects the defulxion and reattachment of tumor cell. This paper aims to study expression of T-cadherin in the gastric cancer tissues, paraneoplastic tissues and normal epithelial tissues By studying and discussing its relationship with the clinicopathologic characteristic of gastic cancer and other factors such as the gender and age of patients, we can provide a new way to study the generation, development, metastasis and treament of gastric cancers. Methods:There are50cases of gastric carcinoma specimens Collected from the department of the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University from January2012to December2012. All the specimens confirmed by pathology after operation. Every patient did not receive any radiotherapy and chemotherapy before the surgery and have a complete follow-up materials. We counterpose each case to its corresponding paraneoplastic tissues and normal epithelial tissues. After the removal of the specimen, the formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded, serial sections. The SP method is used to inspect the T-cadherin’s expression differences between gastric carcinoma tissues, corresponding paraneoplastic tissues and normal epithelial tissue. Statistical analyses were performed using spass17.0softwere package for windows. Results:The positive expression rate of T-cadherin in normal gastic tissues is significantly higher than that in gastic carcinoma tissues (P<0.05); Its expression rate is significantly correlated with the degree of cell differentiation and tumor’s stage (P<0.05). The lower the degree of differentiation is, the lower T-cadherin’s expression level is. The expression of T-cadherin molecule is not associated with patients’gender, age, and the size of the carcinoma (P>0.05).Conclusions:The low or absence expression of T-cadherin in gastric carcinoma may be a factor for invasion and metastasis.Monitoring the expression of T-cadherin has important significance to predict whether carcinoma cells have metastasis.
