Objective:To investigate the Progranulin (PGRN) expression in lupus nephritis (LN) patients in this study, explain the correlation of lupus activity index and related indicators. Analysis the correlation of the TCM syndrome type with SLEDAI and Pathological type. Methods:The study subjects were divided into three groups, LN active group (n=15), LN stable group (n=10) and control group (n=10). Detect the concentrations of the serum and urine of the PGRN by ELISA, analyze the results and compare them the difference in the three groups. Analyze the correlation of PGRN levels with lupus activity index, routine laboratory parameters, histological type. Identify the TCM syndrome type in active LN patient. Analyze the crrelation of TCM syndrome type with SLEDAI and Pathological type.Result:1.Serum PGRN levels were significantly higher in LN active group and LN stable group than control group (P<0.01). while there are no significant difference between the active group and stable group.2. Urine PGRN levels were significantly higher in LN active group than stable group and control group (P<0.01).3. The PGRN levels were significantly associated with activity of clinical symptoms. They also significantly correlated with values of clinical parameters, including the SLE Disease Activity Index and anti-double-stranded DNA antibody titers, and inversely with C3levels.4. In active LN patients, there were most of spleen qi deficiency. The TCM syndrome type didn’t correlate with SLEDAI.Conclusion:1.Combine of Serum PGRN and Urine PGRN could be a useful biomarker for disease activity of SLE. Urine PGRN levels may be more sensitive to the reaction of LN.2. This study suggests that there are no significant difference between PGRN level and the pathology, but may need to observe more cases.3. There were most of spleen qi deficiency in active LN patients.
