Analysis Of Peripheral Blood Lymphocyte Subsets In69Patients With Sporotrichosis

OBJECTIVE: To understand the characteristics of peripheral immunity ofpatients with sporotrichosis, we investigated the lymphocytes subsets of the peripheralblood of patients with sporotrichosis.METHODS:Peripheral blood was collected from69sporotrichosis patients withthe most common clinical presentations:fixed cutaneous(F) and lymphocutaneous(LC)forms(F:n=37, LC:n=32) and66healthy controls. Lymphocytes subsets wereanalyzed using flow cytometry techniques.RESULTS:Compared to the controls, the the percentage of CD8+T cells inpatients demonstrated signifincant decrease (patients:20.54±7.06%, controls:24.46±8.52%, P=0.004) and realatively higher ratio of CD4+T cell/CD8+cells(patients:2.24±1.11, controls:1.81±0.84, P=0.026). Comparing with the controls,those patients with sporotrichosis more than6months showed significant decrease inthe percentage of CD8+T cell (patients:20.01±6.16%, controls:24.46±8.52%,P=0.014) and relatively higher ratio of CD4+T cell/CD8+T cell (patients:2.26±0.88,controls:1.81±0.84, P=0.05). Those with the LC form, in contrast to controls, werefound to have a less percentage of CD8+T cells (LC: patients:19.56±6.62%, controls:24.46±8.52%, P=0.004).CONCLUSION:Our investigation indicates that the percentage of CD8+T cellin peripheral blood of patients with sporotrichosis is less than that of controls. We candraw a conclusion that there is immunity-disorder in patiens with sporotrichosis.Moreover,the more decreased percentage of CD8+T cell in peripheral blood of thepatiens with more than6months disease duration and LC form may reveal somerelationship between the CD8+T cell in peripheral blood and duration andpresentations of sporotrichosis.
