Objective:To analyze the constitution and trend of Glaucoma patients admitted to the hospital, and observe the distribution characteristics of demographic data and disease-relative factors to provide information and reference for the prevention and treatment of Glaucoma. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted to analyze the information of Glaucoma patients admitted to a provincial hospital from January2003to December2012. A total number of1458cases were divided into three categories according to the diagnosis:primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG), primary open angle glaucoma (POAG), and secondary glaucoma (SG). Observing the constitution and changing trend of different types of glaucoma, demographic data and disease-relative factors in ten years, and analyzing the effects of different demographic characteristics and disease related factors on different types of glaucoma. Summarizing the related factors constitution difference of various types of glaucoma between2003-2005and2010-2012, and observing the change of influencing factors. Results:Primary angle closure glaucoma, primary open angle glaucoma and secondary glaucoma accounted for45.4%,7.4%and47.2%of hospitalized patients relatively in the ten years. The majority was primary angle closure glaucoma and secondary glaucoma, and the least proportion was primary open angle glaucoma. The annual variation trend of total number of primary angle closure glaucoma and secondary glaucoma cases was large. The number of primary open angle glaucoma cases changed relatively flat from year to year. The constitution of three types of glaucoma in demographic data on age, gender, occupation, marriage, residence and in disease related factors on onset seasons, eye, cataract, refractive error, history of trauma, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebral vascular disease, smoking and drinking were different. Both the number of glaucoma cases and the average age of the patients in2010-2012were higher than that in2003-2005. The constitution of primary angle closure glaucoma on onset seasons, occupation, refractive error, diabetes in two periods were different. There was no significant difference in primary open angle glaucoma on the related factors in the two periods. About secondary glaucoma, there was difference in marriage, residence and history of trauma.Conclusions:From2003to2012, admitted patients with secondary glaucoma and primary angle closure glaucoma were the majority, and the changing trend of the cases number by the time was large. The composition of demography data and disease related factors in three types of Glaucoma was different. The patients number and the average age in2010-2012were on the rise compared with those in2003-2005. The composition of related factors in Primary angle closure glaucoma and secondary glaucoma changed in the two periods. But that of the primary open angle glaucoma changed little.
