Experimental Research For The Effect Of Mangel Strengthening Yang

OBJECTIVE: Inspect the influence of mangel on the copulating ability of normal male rats, on the reproductive system organs index, on the spermatozoon quality, on the blood serum andrusol level, on the castrated male rat reproductive organ index and the penis excitability, as well as on the ability of male mouse to resist yang asthenia induced with large dose hydrocortisone. Evaluate the effect of mangel strengthening yang, invigorates the kidney and the promotion breeding ability on male rats and mouse. METHODS: Examine the capture incubation period, the capture number of times, the capture rate, ejaculate incubation period, the ejaculate number of times, ejaculate rate to inspect the effect on copulating ability. Separate and weigh the testicle, the seminal vesicle, the prostate gland, the preputial glands, levator ani muscle, calculate the organs index. Test under microscope to measure the spermatozoon density and the spermatozoon living rate. Use radio-immunity method to measure blood serum andrusol level. Use electric stimulation method to measure erection incubation period. Measure the mouse’s spontaneous movement, low temperature swimming survival time, body weight, body temperature to inspect the ability of animal resist yang asthenia induced by hydrocortisone. RESULTS: (1) Treatment dose, mangel 30 days administration remarkably elevate the male rat’s copulating ability. But have no effect on the rat’s reproductive system organs index, the spermatozoon quality and the blood serum andrusol level. (2) Treatment dose, mangel 30 days administration remarkably reduces the castrated male rat’s erection incubation period with electricity stimulating, i.e. enhances the penis excitability. But have no effect on rat’s reproductive organ index. (3) Treatment dose, mangel 10 days administration on the male mouse prevent the reduction of the spontaneous movement, of the body weight, of the body temperature and of the survival time in low temperature water, that induced with given a large dose hydrocortisone 3 days in final of the 10 days.CONCLUSION: Mangel have remarkably strengthening yang effect on rats and mouse. The mechanism of this effect has nothing to do with the increase of blood serum andrusol level. Mangel have no effect to increase the quantity and the quality of spermatozoon on male rats. All above hint that mangel can treat erectile dysfunction as a strengthening yang drug in clinic.
