The Structure Of Relational Self-Construal And Its Relationships With Implicit Helping Attitudes

This research discussed relationships between relational self-construal and implicit helpingattitude, using empirical methods in psychology. In the first part, through two-way translationmethod, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, Chinese version ofrelational self-construal questionnaire was revised, and related questionnaires’ reliability andvalidity were tested. In the second part, participants’ relational self-construal level and implicithelping attitude were measured by relational self-construal questionnaire and GNAT procedurerespectively, and the relationships between them were tested. In the third part, participants’empathy level and interpersonal trust level were measured so as to explore their effects betweenrelational self-construal and interpersonal trust. In the fourth part, the influences of demographyvariables were tested. The conclusions were as follows:（1）The revised Chinese version of relational self-construal has one dominant factor, and ithas good reliability and validity for future research.（2）Relational self-construal has a significant positive influence on implicit helping attitudes.（3）Empathy has complete mediate effect between relational self-construal and implicithelping attitudes.（4）Interpersonal trust has moderate effect between relational self-construal and implicithelping attitude.（5）The differences of relational self-construal on sex and only-child variables and thedifferences of implicit helping attitudes on sex variable were significant.
