Focusing on the lack of the aboriginality and applicability in the Thai Chinese textbooks,this paper makes a study on six sets of the Thai Primary English textbooks, which have beenstipulated by Thailand Basic Education Committee and used widely at primary schools inThailand. Based on the basic compiling principles of Second Language and the SecondLanguage Acquisition theories, adopting the method of data statistics, the paper analyzes thelocalization of the six sets of textbooks from three aspects: the texts, exercises and the culture.Hopefully, it will also shed new light on the compiling Thai Chinese textbooks. This Paper consistsof seven chapters, which are divided into four main parts:The first Part (1): This part includes the reasons for choosing this topic,the objects andmethods of the research.The second Part (2): This part expounds the definition of localization of the teachingmaterials, the standards of classification and the objects of study.The third Part (3-5): This Part is the main part of the Paper. The author specifically studiesthe Data Statistics and Analysis for the localization from three aspects: texts, exercises and theculture.The forth Part (6-7): Based on the whole study,the author integrates and analyzes theexplicit localization of the six sets of textbooks from three aspects and makes a brief descriptionof the implicit localization’s content in the teaching materials. It will provide implications forcompiling Thai Chinese textbooks. |
