The rhyming of poetry created according to Guangyun(《广韵》) prescribed the standardsfor poets’ creating in the Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It was ruled that Yuan, Hunand Hen rhym(e“元”、“魂”、“痕”韵)may rhyme each other, but in fact the actual speechof that in this period was already different from rhyming books. The main focus of this thesis was to analyse the causes of Thirteen Yuan rhyme(“十三元”)problem in the perspective of rhyming books, dialects and poems. Through analysis andinduction, we concluded that actually the basic phonology of Yuan rhyme(元韵)all belonged toShan rhyme group(山摄), and in Northern and Southern Dynasty Yuan rhyme(元韵)was closeto the central vowel in the South dialect. In this period national economic and cultural centre wasmoving south, northerners of migration influenced by south dialect, gradually accepted thatYuan, Hun and Hen rhym(e“元”、“魂”、“痕”韵)may rhyme each other. And by the Tangdynasty due to the development of the phonology itself and the influence of social environmentYuan rhyme(元韵)became close to the Xian and Xian rhyme(“先”、“仙”韵),so thishistorical phonology evolution of Yuan rhyme(元韵)was the ultimate cause of Thirteen Yuanrhyme(“十三元”)problem. |
