A Report On The Translation Of Surviving Manic Depression(Chapter1to4)

This paper is a translation project report. The translation project of SurvivingManic Depression is assigned by Chongqing University Publishing House. The author isresponsible for the first four chapters.This translation report consists of four parts. First of all, it describes thebackground, content and importance of the project. The author points out that SurvivingManic Depression, as a popular science book, will guide and enlighten both manicdepression patients and researchers in China. Then, the report discusses the usage oftheories and approaches, and main problems during the translation process. Accordingto the functions of the text, the author adopts a variety of translation strategies and skills,trying to accurately convey the information from source language, and publicize it in areadable way. Finally, the author summarizes the translation lessons, and reflects uponunsolved problems.
