Zhang Xuecheng,a famous historian of Qing Dynasty, once said:“Everyscholar has his own academic origin.” Academic inheritance and teachingsuccession is firmly inseparable, while poetic thought is no exception. Critics,with profound knowledge and excellent experience, setted up their ownsystem of poetics, established his own poetics portal. And subsequentscholars, standing on those already constructed poetics cornerstones anddiscard the dross and select the essential, then carried forward the essence ofpoetics. Conversely, if firmly entrenched in the faction, it will be no poeticinvention took place. Ye Xie,a famous poetics in Qing Dynasty, with thestrict intrinsic logical,he construct rational poetics system at his opus“Yuanshi”. Under the disciple Shen Deqian and Xue Xue developed theachievements respectively. These three teachers and students did a lot to thepoetry world, this kind of phenomenon in the history of Chinese ancientliterary theory is rare. Their poetry criticism, on behalf of the people of thosetimes to the poetry of knowledge and poetry theory.After reading poetry book carefully, and on the basis of collecting andcollating relevant papers and Monographs, the author discoverd that atcriticism, poetry or some single papers, researchers did some jobs in sect of"Ye’s". Although the argument is scattered, people mainly focus on thesefollows: first, Xue Xue’s succession issues, except Mr. Gong Pengchengdissented, other theorists agreed that from the mind and character,creativeness and academic, as well as the artistic style diversification, XueXue inherited and developed the Ye’s poetics. Then second, Shen Deqian’ssuccession issues, there are two different ideas. Guo Shaoyu believes thatShen Deqian ’s Poetics is no innovation, others argue that Shen Deqian isdifferent from his teacher at some aspects, and the analysis of the causes.According to questions above, this paper shows the perspective thatusing the two poetry Shen Deqian and Xue Xue as the main line, through their interpretation of poetry, mainly on their Ye’s poetics, make it clear that theimpact and status of the Hengshan School of poetry in the Qing Dynasty.From five respects, this paper is trying to evaluate the Hengshan schoolpoetics’ achievements, and make a correct evaluation on Hengshan schoolpoetics’ status on the history of poetic thought.
