This translation project report is based on a real translation practice, namely the translation of2012Report on the Work of Inner Mongolia Government, in which the author participated as a translator and accomplished the report by herself. This report mainly analyses redundancies in English to Chinese translation. Chinese political documents need high standard of faithfulness, but not a dead translation of every single word. An important problem is how to handle these redundancies. This report takes the translation skills on this field as guidance. Through translation process study and in-depth analysis on typical cases from the project, the author discusses and put forwards a feasible strategy of translating the redundancies. The main contents of this translation project report are divided into four parts: Part One is introduction to the background of the translation project, including project origin, project significance, and structure of the report. Part Two is introduction on the political documents, including the stylistic, linguistic and translation characters, and main contents of the source text. Part Three is about operational process. Part Four is analysis of the project including the theory of redundancies and the management of this problem. Part Five concludes with the lessons, enlightenments and unsolved problems in the translation project. Generally, this report aims to summarize the translation project so that it may provide reference on concrete operation for translation practices of the similar kind.
