Translation And Research Report Of Formula For Terror And Food For Thought

The object of the translation project is Formula for Terror and Food for Thought, which are two critical articles, separately selected from TIME and The Economist. Formula for Terror introduces people’s fear and thinking of using nuclear caused by nuclear smuggling under the situation of disintegration of USSR and upheaval of Eastern Europe in20th century early90s. Food for Thought is about the world biggest fast-food chain McDonald together with environment group works on the pollution problems caused by its operation. A report is written on the difficulties in the process of translation.The purpose of this translation project is through translating news and magazine to explore difficulties and their solutions in the progress. The report carefully introduces the problems including terms, long sentences, language style and idioms, uses examples to discuss what methods should be used to solve these problems. Later on, some experience is summed up. A few of translation that still can be improved and some problems that still need to be solved are also included in the report. By this I try to find disadvantages in the translation and hope to improve myself.
