This report is an English-Chinese translation project of excerpt of the book Rural Architecture, which belongs to architectural scientific and technological texts. The author translated more than 12,000 words and the content mainly includes "agricultural house interior design" and "outdoor farm design" of rural buildings. While translating, the author found that there are a large number of terms and long sentences in the original text.As the author does not know much about professional architecture knowledge,it becomes a difficult problem to translate the text into Chinese. However, terms and long sentences are the basic elements of this kind of text, which shows the importance of professional terminology and long sentence analysis in the translation of this kind of text.On the basis of Skopos theory, the author makes a brief analysis of the architectural terms in the excerpts of Rural Architecture, and summarizes some translation methods of long sentences.By consulting the relevant dictionaries and parallel texts of architecture, the author enumerates some terms in translation practice. At the same time,in view of the long sentences in the text,as well as the types and characteristics of the text, the author finally sums up six specific translation strategies suitable for such texts:literal translation, voice conversion, supplement, omission, sequential adjustment,part-of speech conversion. This report enumerates terms and summarizes the Chinese translation skills of long sentences in the architectural scientific and technological texts, and provides a reference for the future translation practice and related research in architecture.
