Avoidance Attachment Individual’s Reaction On Different Emotional Words Through Emotional Stroop Effect

An individual’s early experiences with his caregiver forms different attachment types, and forms adult intimate relationship. Attachment type’s forming to some extent depends on the timely care and support from his caregiver when he was in the state of pain. Different Attachment types has different internal working model, with safety experience’s individuals deal with the positive or negative attachment relevant information in a relatively openly processing way; Avoidance attachment individuals always tends to avoiding or restraining in defensive way to deal with the attachment information.In this study, through the ES experiment and subliminal ES experiment to study avoidance attachment individual’s internal working model and the emotional response. ES experimental study avoidance attachment individual’s emotional response and emotional regulation in the field of consciousness with the participation of individual’s internal working model; Subliminal ES experiment study avoidance attachment individual’s emotional response and tendency under the condition of seldom involves cognitive participation.The results show that:(1) In the subliminal ES experiment, avoidance attachment shows longest reaction time to the negative attachment related words, security attachment individual has the same trend;(2) In the ES experiment, avoidance attachment shows longest reaction time to the negative attachment related words, security attachment individual shows longest reaction time to the positive attachment related words;(3) In the subliminal ES experiment, avoidance attachment individual and security attachment individual on the responses of attachment related words show significant difference in reaction time; On the general mood words they also show significant difference in reaction time;(4) In the ES experiment, avoidance attachment individual and security attachment individual on the responses of attachment related words show no significant difference in reaction time; On the general mood words they also show no significant difference in reaction time;(5) Avoidance attachment individual and security attachment individual shows the same trend:the reaction time In the ES experiment is longer than the subliminal ES experiment;Internal working model is the core of the attachment theory, with the ES paradigm, the study of emotional information processing process between different attachment styles through the ES and subliminal ES experiment, enrich the theory of attachment; avoidance attachment individual tend to avoiding emotional information, and the long-term suppression is not good to health of body and mind, this study explores avoidance attachment individual whether show difference between mood words and attachment emotional words in the experiment of threshold and sub-threshold, providing theoretical basis for avoidance attachment individual’s later psychological consultation.
