A Report On The Translation Of Chinese Literary, Istorical And Philosophical Abstracts

The Chinese abstracts of academic papers on literature, history and philosophy,as a special text, have some similarities with the normal abstracts. Meanwhile, thelanguages also have their own characteristics, thus leading to different translationprinciples, strategies and skills. Depend on the author’s own translation practice onliterary, historical and philosophical abstracts of academic papers. With the endeavorof translating the selected texts, she combines some useful theories and translationstrategies of the former scholars with her own translation practice. Under thefundamental understanding of the characteristics and differences of Chinese andEnglish abstracts, the author analyses the advantages and disadvantages of her threetranslated versions in details and compares her final version with the others’ publishedversion. These efforts are made to explore different methods and achieve betterstrategies and skills for the translation of these special abstracts.
