The Research On The Ideology Theory Of Althusser

Louis Althusser (1918-1990) is a famous French Marxist philosopher. On thestanding of defending the Marxist, he reconstructed Marxism and advanced his ideologytheory. It has a great contribution on Marxism. For this, it is a new chapter in ideologytheory. This paper summaries the overall distribution of Althusser’s ideology theory. Itanalyzes background, subject the advantages and disadvantages. His theory provides apoint for new breakthrough.The paper describes the following three parts. First, it analyzes the period settingand origins of Althusser’s ideology theory. It analyzes the surrounding of CPF and therelasionship between CPI and other Western bourgeois Ruling parties. Then again,setting in the background of international communist in1920s and1930s, the paperexplans the internal debates of different countries’communist and criticizes humanitarianMarxism. In theory sources, it explores the influence of Marx, Western Marxism andstructuralism in Althusser’s ideology theory. The second part is the key part. The subjectof the theory is analyzed in detail. Including: on the one hand, it defines the concept ofAlthusser’s ideology from the epistemological rupture and ideological state apparatuses;on the other hand, it also analyzes the main factors of ideology and rethinking in his lateyears. The last part is on the Althusser’ development of the Marx’s ideology theory and ittakes an objective evaluation on the limitations of the theory itself.
