The Study Of Zhu Tingzhen’s "xiao Yuan Notes On Poetry"

Poetry theory is a kind of special form of literary criticism in ancient Chinese poetics. When it rose inNorthern Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty has reached the extreme. Guo Shaoyu once said:“Poetrytheory goes to its peak in Qing Dynasty. There were about there to four hundred kinds then. Not only didthey go beyond the previous generation in kinds and quantity, but also do better than their predecessors incomplication and appropriation.” Zhu Tingzhen’s “Xiao Yuan Notes on Poetry” has certain influence on theChinese ancient theory of literature and art. It is Chinese classical poetry theory’s final writings.“Xiao YuanNotes on Poetry” can compare favourably with Ye Xie’s Original Poem in both systematicness andprofundity. However, because of Zhu Tingzhen’s obscurity, his “Xiao Yuan Notes on Poetry” was notattached importance to in a long time. So this research has been considerable theoretical value. He and hisworks have attracted increasing attention during the past few years and his literary position has beenaffirmed by those researchers. In this paper, this Poetry for the study, hopes to discuss thoroughly in thisZhu Tingzhen Poetry in the many proposed theories of a little criticism of the value of poetry, and theinternal system of the Poetry certain mining.For this issue, the author based on the text, in the deep reading,“Xiao Yuan Notes on Poetry” based onthe possession of people in a wide range of “Xiao Yuan Notes on Poetry” under the premise of the researchliterature on this Poetry study.This thesis mainly is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is about introduction. It mainlyintroduces the subject’s objective and importance, the study’s present situation, the study’s objective andmethods. In this paper, that there is no deeper research, it is only briefly introduced. In the second chapter,it mainly introduces Zhu Tingzhen and “Xiao Yuan Notes on Poetry”. It includes the introduction of “XiaoYuan Notes on Poetry”’s times and regional, Zhu Tingzhen’s personal introduction, the introduction ofpoetry writing situation, the editions of “Xiao Yuan Notes on Poetry”. The third chapter is introducingpoetic theory. It includes five parts: discuss nature of poetry, discuss unity of subject and object, discusscreative of poetic rule, discuss neutralization and evolutionary view of literature. This part is the focus of this issue. The fourth chapter is about introduces the value of the “Xiao Yuan Notes on Poetry”. It mainly isdivided into three parts. The poets can be divided into the four classes. This theory has beyond the formergeneration’s theories. It has practical operability. So later generations continue use it. There are someYunnan famous poets had been evaluate. They lived in remote areas of Yunnan. They ignored thecontribution and value by historians. Zhu Tingzhen restored their contribution. He summarized of the lawsof poetry. It is learn the textbook of poetry by later generations. There is conclusion in the knot part of thepaper.Therefore, we can say “Xiao Yuan Notes on Poetry” has enriched the treasure house of Chinese poetrytheory for Poetic Creation. It played a guiding role for Poetic Creation later.
