When Dots Are Ablated At Last

Yayoi Kusama born in Matsumoto, Nagano is the most important living artists to comeout of Japan and an important voice of avant-garde art know as dot art. In1957, she moved toUnited State, and begun her exploration of avant-garde art. Art critics attributed her art tomany factions by art critics, including feminism, native art, surrealism, pop art and abstractexpressionism and so on. This paper mainly focus on analysis of the art works of YayoiKusama1960s in the United States and late1970s when she returned to Japan. By analyzingher classic graphic works, the aim of this study is try to interpret her dots leading arts.The first chapter, in-depth understand Yayoi Kusama’s spiritual significance meaning byanalysing her early net-draw painting in United State. The works are interpreted in differentdimensions. In chapter two, the soft sculpture and installation art is used to interpret her dotart. It is the continuation of the net-draw painting, but in the form of performance art has gonebeyond the easel painting. She constantly use repeating form of expression, to ease theirsexual and food fears. In multimedia installation art, she makes extensive use of mirrors,lights, room and a series of props to create an illusion of space blurred and thus express theirfeelings of love and understanding. In chapter three, her body artworks are used to analyzedot art. In her body art painting, she use high saturation dot painted to the human body.Through this manifestation, she try to express her understanding of the universe and of love.Let love spread to the point of everyone’s mind, spread to the wider world. She use love toagainst violence, against war. Chapter four, Kusama’s late1970s graphic artworks areanalyzed to interpret her works of Japanese and decorative painting language, at the sametime to dissect the reason of dot art. Chapter five, author mainly describe her thinking ofcreative arts. Chapter six is a summary of the whole chapters, emphasizing the aim andobjectives, once again deeply appreciate Kusama’s dot arts. Above all, use short words tosummarizes the interpretation of Yayoi Kusama--From dot to dot. Kusama’s art borrow round special natural charm in her artwork. Her fear push her fled to the dots, squander dot.Dot freed her from fear and sex. All of her creative subconscious ablated to dots. At the sametime, she used dots calcified her own body, and the body merged into the infinite universe,where the love spread to every corner of the world and unlimited passed forever. The dot withitself are forever.
