The "Takai" Imagination Of Japanese

In this thesis, the next world of Japanese folklores is studied. Japanese people place aspiration and hope on Japanese folklores which deeply take root among Japanese people and display the emotions of Japanese people. The plot line of Japanese folklore not only brief but also language is concise and the story makes people touching. More and more translations and research achievements are found in China because of a unique charm. There are two major classes in folklores, one is realistic stories, the other is fantasy stories. The object of this thesis is the next world (in Japanese is "takai")visited story, it belongs to the latter. This thesis first examined the meaning of "takai" as well as characteristics of folklores, and through the Japanese folklores works analyzed the mountain and sea’s "takai" imagination, finally expounded the types and characteristics of the Japanese view of "takai",specific analyzed the different time and space between "takai" and the real world. This thesis utilizes three chapters to show the Japanese"takai" imagination.
