Nostalgia For The Homeland With Mountains And Rivers-Early Landscape Painting Styles Of Badashanren To Explore

Badashanren is one of the greatest artists in the17th centuty. His paintingreached a peak in Chinese art history. Moreover, he had his own personal paintingstyle in his works, including a range of themes: landscapes, flowers and birds. In hislater years, he produced a large number of outstanding works of landscape.Theseworks became important symbol of his artistic achievements’ maturity. These worksbecame an important symbol of his artistic achievements’ maturity, and added a mostdazzling color in Chinese art history. For hundreds of years,numerous domestic andforeign researchers has always been researching on his works specially. As an arthistory research area, Badashanren research involves a wide-ranging content. Itincludes everything related to the study, such as his name, descent, life, thoughts,artistic creation, association, religious belief, calligraphy indentification and artisticinfluences. However, most of the people who study about him just concentrate on thelife experience, calligraphy, and paintings of flowers and birds, while few scholarsconducted resrarch on his landscapes. In this paper, I’m trying to analyze his turningto landscape painting from bird painting in his later years. My analysis is based on hisbirth experience and I will generalize and collate his early landscape paintings.Furthermore, there will be a comparative analysis of his early landscape painting stylefor us to have an insight into his unknown Landscape Love.
