Dealing with the compilation of the Chineseas a foreign language textbook has been one of the main contents of the study. Every year, alarge number of foreign Chinese teaching materials published or reprinted, but there iswide-ranging quality of these teaching materials. Whether the textbook is good or not isdirectly impacting on the learner’s learning effect.Word is the materials of building language. Learning vocabulary is an important part inthe Chinese learning. Words’ recurrence has a direct effect on vocabulary learning. It can besaid that words’ recurrence is one of the important indicators to judge the quality of atextbook."New Practical Chinese Reader" is a series textbook which is basic on the"Practical Chinese Readerâ€, then be re-written and improved with new thoughts andinnovations. This set of textbook has been deeply welcomed by the Chinese learners allaround the world. So “New Practical Chinese Reader†has high authority and researchvalue.This article will focus on the words’ recurrence in "New Practical Chinese Reader(primary1-4) as the research statistics, then firstly analyze from the recurrence overviewwhich mainly includes the times of reappearance and the situation of distribution, to findout whether the words’ recurrence is good to satisfy the learning need. Secondly study thewords which reappear frequently or never to see whether these words correspond to thelearning regular pattern and can we make the words appear more. Thirdly investigate therecurrence in the texts and the practice. Study more about the compilation of texts, thewords’ explanation and the practice after school. Through these,I try to find out whetherthe words’ recurrence is good for learning and the advantage or the shortcoming maybe thebook has. Finally, basic on the analysis above, to enhance the recurrence of new word, I make some advices about the compilation of learning Chinese textbook in the wholestructure, new word, text and practice.
