Unauthorized Characters Study Of Tang Dynasty And Five Dynasties In Dunhuang-reserved Manuscript

About Dunhuang unauthorized characters,a great number of professors have made thorough and extensive study and special discussion. There are a vatiey of outstanding and excellent papers about Dunhuang unauthorized characters, from analyzing the original cause of unauthorized characters to dividing the type of unauthorized characters. As the number of Dunhuang manuscripts,as well as Dunhuang unauthorized characters is so large that it is extremely difficult to for every scholar make study comprehensively,overall,orderly and in detail,thus overlook of some parts associate with Dunhuang unauthorized characters is unavoidable, it’s necessary for us to make further study and discussion on the omissions which still exist in Dunhuang unauthorized characters. This thesis is mainly based on manuscripts of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties from French collected Dunhuang documents which have a definite date. Then compiling the unauthorized characters in the manuscripts,making some discussion about the development law of these unauthorized characters, trying to depict their evolvement and simplification law.The consists of this paper as following:First,introduction, mainly introducing the meaning of the chosen subject,the standard of selecting material and the method of carrying out study,meanwhile forecasting the study result and analyzing the difficulties might confront me.Second, summary of unauthorized characters of Tang Dynasty and Five Dynasties. mainly introducing the study of Tang Dynasty unauthorized characters and it’s achievements which previous scholars ever undertook.making further discussion about the definition of unauthorized characters and fixing the standard of this thesis in selecting unauthorized characters.Third,compiling outline of Tang Dynasty unauthorized characters. Mainly introducing the number of the manuscripts we selected in this thesis and compiling result,etc Making a simple division of the type of unauthorized characters compiled and discussing briefly of the unauthorized characters in each stage. The main part of this paper including envolvement of Tang Dynasty unauthorized characters. The unauthorized characters in this part laid out accordin to date so as it’s easy to analyze the different variants of several characters and speculate and discuss the possible of evolvement between the variants.The use of symbol in Dunhuang manuscript of Tang Dynasty.mainly discussing several common symbols appear when compiling and the characters which often use these symbols.At last,conclusion, making brief conclusion of the study of this thesis.
