Project Report On The Translation Of The VIP Grandstand Briefing Of Guangxi Planning Exhibition Hall

This report is based on the translation project of the VIP Grandstand Briefing of Guangxi Planning Exhibition Hall. As the translation belongs to translation for publicity, the report records and analyzes the project from the point of view of translation for publicity.The report covers three stages of the project:pre-translation stage, translation stage and post-translation stage. It explores translation for publicity in several aspects, including pre-analysis, translation methods, style, tools and proofreading. This report also contains a "Case Studies" section, in which cases written in distinct Chinese manners are selected and categorized into three groups:verses, proverbs and common sayings; expressions of Chinese Characteristics and long sentences. With parallel texts as references, each case is analyzed separately and is provided with a translation produced in accordance with the results from the analysis.This report records the process of Guangxi Planning Exhibition Hall’s VIP Grandstand Briefing Translation Project, puts forward that the priority of translation for publicity should be the audience’s acceptability, and its purpose of publicizing the Chinese culture should also be taken into consideration. It is hoped that this report offers some referential value to other translators when translating similar texts, and provides feasible precedents for translation for publicity with China-ASEAN background in Guangxi.
