In this paper, I conducted a questionnaire survey and door to door interviews of92Thai foreign students, discusses the overall use of the Chinese vocabulary strategies of the Thai foreign students, and the differences in the use of the Chinese vocabulary learning strategies between different genders, schools, Chinese levels, grades, learning motivations, whether ethnic Chinese and whether previously learned. The interview main content is that whether the Chinese vocabulary teaching methods teacher used are helpful for you, and what is your suggestion.The results show:(1)In the view of total usage frequency of six vocabulary learning strategies, Thai foreign students most often use compensation strategy, in compensation strategy, Thai foreign student most often use dictionary (including electronic dictionary) to help learn vocabulary. Followed by internet strategy and guessing strategy, the least used strategy is making sentences strategy.(2)There is no big difference of Thai foreign students from different schools.(3) there are some significant differences between different genders, Chinese levels, grades, learning motivations, whether ethnic Chinese and whether previously learned. With the increase of Chinese level, the students use the kinds of strategies more and more. The low grade students use memory strategy more than high grade students. Non-ethnic Chinese students use strategies more often than ethnic Chinese students. Non-previously learned students use memory strategy more often than previously learned students, and previously learned students use social strategy more often than non-previously learned students. The students with job learning motivation use vocabulary strategies more often than students with other two learning motivations.Finally, a brief summary of the results of surveys and interviews is made, according to the study results, some suggestions are made for the teaching of Thai foreign students.
