In the middle and advanced level of the acquisition of Chinese, vocabularywhich plays a decisive role, is the key factor to improve the learners’ languageability and communicative skills. Through the analysis of the Thai students’ corpus,we found out the middle and advanced Thai students have made a large number oferrors in understanding and using the Chinese vocabulary, which seriouslyrestricting the Thai students’ Chinese level. In view of this situation,the paperbased on error analysis theory, combined with the semantics, pragmatics andcognitive theory, summarized and analyzed the middle and advanced Thaistudents’ Chinese vocabulary errors, try to explain the cause of the errors frommany different angles, and on this basis to improve the Chinese vocabularyteaching strategies. The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction, mainly explains the reason of theresearch, purpose, significance and research methods, reviews the error analysis ofChinese vocabulary’s main results, including both contribution but also haveinadequacy.The second chapter, Thai students’ Chinese vocabulary errors are divided intofour types under the guidance of the error analysis: the word meaning errors, thelexical category errors, collocation errors and calque errors.The third chapter, through the form of questionnaire, to understand the Thaistudents’ Chinese vocabulary learning strategy and Thai teachers’ teaching methodsand effects, confirming the effective learning strategies and teaching methods,atthe same time find out the problems.The fourth chapter, according to the Chinese vocabulary error analysis andquestionnaire results, mainly from the knowledge of mother tongue, the targetlanguage knowledge, learning strategy and teaching methods and so on to explain the cause of the errors.The fifth chapter,"teach" must be adapted to "learn","teach" must service"learn", under the guidance of this thought, by improving the teaching methodsand learning strategies to reduce the errors of Chinese vocabulary.The sixth chapter is the conclusion, summarized and concluded the paper, andpoint out shortcomings.
