George Frideric Handel is a great composer in Baroque times, who played asignificant role in development of European music. Be remembered as “the father oforatorio", Handel’s oratorio became his most representative music wealth.This article studies the music and singing skills of two Handel’s oratorio aria "Comeand trip it" and "Where’er you walk”. The first part of the thesis introduces the Handel’slife, the production process of oratorio, and the important influence of Handel’s oratorio inBaroque times. The second part tells the background of the two Handel’s oratorio arias,followed by deeply analyses of the musical structure and the melody of these two arias,and sum up the styles and characteristics of joint between two arias.In the third part of the thesis, the author analyzes the singing skills of the two ariafrom five aspects. Firstly, by studying the breathing control process of " Come and trip it"and" Where’er you walk”, the author respectively analyses the basic physical mechanismof breathing and the interpretation function in the two aria. And then, explains the recitingskills of lyrics tones and rhyme and English pronunciation,by analyzing the lyrics ofrhythm and English language requirements in the aria. Further more, the author discussesthe need to do certainty of timbre, emotional, and mental state while singing. Finally, thedecoration phrase in singing processing has carried on the detailed analysis anddiscussion.To solve above problems, this paper puts forward the concrete solution, combinedwith the author’s theatricality study experience and personal singing practice research inrecent years, cited typical examples are studied respectively in the article, at the same time,summarized the Scores data are collected and sorted in the article. Through the study ofsinging skills requirements of" Come and trip it "and" Where’er you walk", the author aimto not only improve her personal professional skills, but also to provide reference materialto other researchers who are also interested in vocal music and Handel oratorio.
