A Practice Report On The Translation Of SAP Application Process

The text analyzed in this translation practice report comes from the translation of SAPUser’s Manual series from English to Chinese in one project that the author involved as aspare-time translator in a translation company in2013. In this paper, Part I describes thebackground knowledge, project content, staff and form of teamwork, etc.; Part II describesthe overall translation process, duration, subsequent proofreading and modification; Part III isthe stage of preparation before translation, which states the preparatory work including theunderstanding of background information on SAP, the determination of cooperation way andthe usage of Office Microsoft and Internet; Part IV analyzes some difficult cases in translationand put forward solutions to the problems in this translation practice, thus providing referenceand lessons for other translators; Part V sums up lessons the author learned through thetranslation practice and the aspects that should be paid attention to in the future translationpractices so as to improve the translation quality and efficiency.
