This practice report is based on the Obama’s speech in Cairo University. Obama givesthis speech to Islam world on June,2009in Cairo University as well as shows United States’policy to the issues in Middle East. The style of this speech belongs to political speech. In thisreport, there are five parts: the task description, the procedure description, the interpretationpreparation, the case analysis and the summary. The task description and the proceduredescription describes the content and the procedures of this practice; the interpretationpreparation describes works of interpreter before simultaneous interpretation including:background information, professional words and so on; the case analysis is the core of thisreport, this chapter describes shortages and mistakes during this practice and finds somerelated silks. The shortages include mistranslation and omission and the skills includesyntactic linearity principal, cultural translation theory, repetition, amplification and so on.The last chapter is the conclusion, the writer summarize experiences and lessons from thispractice in order to make benefits for other translation practice. The primary purpose oftranslation is to express ideas according to the speaker closely and the task for translator is tocomprehend original language and express in target language. Interpretation is suchtranslation that requires interpreter makes translation immediately and no requirements forelegant. In political speech, its language is professional and rigorous and the speaker has aclearly political view. All these need translator has an objective tone.
