The original text is a novella named "See You in Heaven". It relates a story about a young woman who helps his disabled husband end up his sufferings and finally goes together with him. The plot of the novella is quite simple, but it presents many impressive artistic qualities, especially figure of comparison. The use of figure of speech can, undoubtedly, increase the vitality and artistic feature of the text. As a result, how to effectively translate it without losing its form and content is a great challenge to the translator. Nearly all the differences between Chinese and English can find their source in culture. Figure of speech is not an exception. Because of cultural differences, the two languages sometimes overlap, while sometimes they have nothing in common. Therefore, when translating figure of speech, many factors need to be taken into consideration. In this paper, centering on the image of the vehicle, the writer summarizes five translating skills on the basis of the translation text. However, none of the skills is absolutely applicable, because readers’ reaction after reading the translation has the final say.
